Profile
Rick is a Tax Partner in BRC’s Raleigh office with more than 25 years of experience advising clients on complex tax matters. Throughout his career in public accounting, he has worked extensively with mid-size to large privately held businesses, particularly in the manufacturing, distribution, construction, and restaurant industries. His clients include both domestic and international closely held and publicly traded companies seeking strategic guidance across a wide range of tax areas.
Rick’s expertise includes U.S. and international tax compliance and consulting, ASC 740 tax provisions, FIN 48 documentation and analysis, R&D tax credit studies, tax accounting methods, and entity structuring and planning. He also advises clients on tax controversy matters, including audit support and state voluntary disclosure, and helps businesses navigate the tax and accounting implications of mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations, and restructuring.
His deep technical knowledge combined with a practical, business-focused approach helps clients manage risk, remain compliant, and optimize their tax positions.
