HUD has officially extended the compliance date for the HOTMA Final Rule from July 1, 2025, to January 1, 2026. This applies to all owners participating in HUD Multifamily project-based rental assistance programs. Full compliance with HOTMA and any discretionary policies is required for certifications dated January 1, 2026, or later.
Owners may opt to comply earlier by using the rent override function in TRACS. Until fully compliant, continue following your current Tenant Selection Plans (TSP) and EIV policies and procedures.
