Over the years, Sandy focused her expertise on serving nonprofit organizations and occupational licensing boards. Her work supported missions in health and human services, the arts, and community and economic development. Sandy also offered extensive assurance and consulting services to religious organizations, where her insight and care have made a lasting impact.

Her contributions to the firm and her clients have helped build lasting relationships rooted in trust, transparency, and excellence. One client shared, “Sandy Newell clearly is a credit to her profession and to BRC—incredibly reliant and transparent on all matters pertaining to our annual audit.”
In addition to her client work, Sandy has served her community through active participation in civic and professional organizations. She previously served as a board member and treasurer for Learning Together and held several leadership roles at Greystone Baptist Church. She is also a member of the AICPA and NCACPA.

Her assurance knowledge and dedication to her clients are inspiring, and I hope to be the kind of accountant she is one day. I wish her relaxation, happiness, and more time with her grandchildren in this new chapter. Sandy will be missed by so many, and I feel privileged to be one of them.”
